National Seminar on the Development of Sharia Business and Economic Law in the Digital Era and Dispute Resolution, Department of Civil Law, Faculty of Law, Islamic University of Indonesia
At the National Seminar on the Development of Sharia Business and Economic Law in the Digital Era and Dispute Resolution held by the Islamic University of Indonesia on June 30, 2022, Rofi Uddarojat as Head of Public Policy and Government Relations of the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) was present and provided material on the Approach Best in formulating Business Laws to build a strong and growing Digital Industry.
On this occasion, Rofi said that along with the growth of the digital economy, the challenges that were present also became more and more numerous. These challenges include the presence of individuals who buy and sell illegal products or content, to the issue of consumer data security. To that end, the Government continues to strive to issue regulations that can support and protect the digital ecosystem, including through regulations around cyber security, funding, taxation and human resource education. There are several strategic issues that need to be issued immediately, including those regarding Data Governance, Platform/MSME Licensing, and Content Moderation. Rofi added that the regulations needed to support the digital industry today are regulations that can provide legal certainty to the digital economy industry, can encourage and protect the development of digital MSMEs, and realize a safe and fair digital economy business.
