Welcomes the Digital Economy, Indonesia Holds Largest E-Commerce event

Jakarta, February 29, 2016 - The trend of shopping online, or better known as e-commerce in the world each year is increasing. In 2012, total sales of e-commmerce world reached US $ 1.058 trillion. Last year eMarketer recorded total sales of e-commerce world reached US $ 1.771 trillion, and that number is predicted to increase to US $ 2.053 trillion this year. E-commerce industry in Indonesia alone middle and is predicted to continue to grow significantly in the coming years, to reach $ 130 billion in 2020. This figure will put Indonesia as one of the world's largest economic power digital.

With hard work and synergy between the various elements of the ecosystem, the e-commerce industry could bring significant changes to the Indonesian economy. According to the McKinsey Global Institute, SMEs are turning towards digital will have a growth rate two times higher than those who did not get into the digital realm. Indonesia currently has about 56 million SMEs and to be one of the biggest contributors to the economy with a contribution of 55.6% to the national GDP. In the midst of this positive euphoria, Indonesia will host the largest e-commerce event "Indonesia E-Commerce Summit & Expo (IESE)" on April 27 to 29 next at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD, Tangerang. As a meeting forum prestigious industry stakeholders, Summit and Workshop for 3 days will feature 72 speakers from both local and international, as well as more than 150 exhibitors. This event was initiated by Indonesia E-Commerce Association (IDEA) along Dyandra Promosindo, and supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Creative Economy Agency.

The theme "The New Digital Energy of Asia" ,. IESE 2016 is planned to be opened by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, as well as the speakers of national and international caliber who are prominent figures from e-commerce industry and its supporting ecosystem.
