Jakarta, November 13, 2018 - The largest online shopping party in Indonesia, the National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas), is back on December 11-12. This year, Harbolnas 2018 targets a transaction value of up to Rp. 7 trillion, which has almost doubled compared to last year. In addition, on December 11 it will be fully dedicated to increasing local product sales from MSME players in more than 300 e-Commerce platforms in Indonesia.
The Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Enggartiasto Lukita welcomes the implementation of the 2018 Harbolnas which focuses on the mutual cooperation spirit in increasing the value of local products in the era of digital commerce. "Later on December 11-12, we will hold the 2018 National Sports Day. Shop online, shop for domestic products, work for the nation's children. We are proud to be an Indonesian Nation, proud of us using domestic products. Domestic products are cool! "He said.
This year's Harbolnas implementation received support from the government through three ministries, namely the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as the Indonesian e-Commerce Association (IDEA).
Chairman of the 2018 Harbolnas Committee, Indra Yonathan stated that for the first time since 2012, Harbolnas this year received full support from three ministries and also IDEA. "So far many have thought that November 11 was Harbolnas. But actually Harbolnas falls on December 12, 2018. This year's Harbolnas raises the theme 'Shopping for the Nation' to increase the value of local products on e-commerce platforms. We e-commerce players want to embrace local product producers to be able to feel the excitement of Harbolnas this year. "
Yonathan, who is also the Country Head of ShopBack Indonesia added, "Besides that, we want to encourage a spirit of mutual cooperation both from e-commerce actors, local producers and the Indonesian people to raise the value of local products by buying and use it. With Shopping for the Nation, indirectly the community also participates in helping the Indonesian economy. "
Meanwhile, Chairman of IDEA Ignatius Untung hopes that Harbolnas 2018 can provide added value to the national digital industry at this time. "Harbolnas is one of the positive initiations of e-commerce players to increase the passion of the e-commerce industry in Indonesia. Plus this year, e-commerce actors together embrace local producers to enter and experience the benefits of this digital market. Of course, we hope that this annual shopping party can run smoothly and free from all frauds to increase public confidence in the country's e-commerce market. "
With the tremendous growth of e-commerce homeland and currently occupying the top three investment positions in Indonesia, after the oil and gas mining industry (research conducted by Google, AT Kearney & Amvesindo in 2017) it must be accompanied by attention to protection consumer. This is clear as part of the e-commerce development roadmap that has been issued by the government. For this reason, IDEA is actively working with the government to continue to try to think of consumers with various rules of protection and also profitable.
Last year's Harbolnas managed to reach 254 e-commerce players with a transaction value of Rp 4.7 trillion, 4.2 times greater than the average daily transaction. Harbolnas is the largest online shopping festival in Indonesia. This year, Harbolnas is joined by more than 300 e-commerce, such as Lazada, Shopee, Blibli, Elevenia, Zalora, and is supported by Bank Mandiri and Midtrans as official sponsors, CIMB Niaga, ShopBack, Prima Network, IMX, PopBox and JET as official partners .
