Power Talk: SuperApp's role in driving the Digital Economy, especially in the Tourism Industry

This morning, Friday 1 April 2022, Traveloka and idEA held a discussion entitled Power Talk: SuperApp's role in encouraging the Digital Economy, especially in the Tourism Industry. This activity was held offline at Traveloka Campus, BSD. On that occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Airlangga Hartato delivered his remarks online, while the Deputy Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Jerry Sambuaga was present to give a speech in person. Also present were the General Chairperson of idEA Bima Laga and Traveloka Chief Technology Officer Ray Frederick as the speeches. In his remarks, Jerry Sambuaga emphasized Indonesia's trade balance which was in surplus even in the midst of a pandemic storm, where one of the factors was the development of economic digitization down to the MSME level.

During the discussion session, idEA Deputy General Chair Budi Primawan, Director of Distribution & Logistics Facilities at the Indonesian Ministry of Trade Iqbal Shoffan Shofwan, and Traveloka Vice President Public Policy and Government Relations Widya Listyowulan as panelists were present. Budi Primawan said, along with changes in people's behavior, expectations for digital services also increased. For this reason, the three panelists agreed that the progress of the digital economy depends not only on innovation but also collaboration between industry players, government and business actors so that the needs and expectations of the community can be met. Responding to these challenges, Traveloka is here as a SuperApp that provides various digital transaction services, ranging from airline tickets to culinary delights, as well as continuing to educate the public and its partners so that they can develop together. idEA as the Association expressed its support and is ready to collaborate to realize these efforts.
