IESE 2017: Big Potential of E-Commerce Industry in Indonesia Becomes Biggest in Southeast Asia
Jakarta, May 9, 2017 - The Indonesian e-commerce industry must be able to take advantage of Indonesia's digital potential that is currently growing. Increasing Internet users is an opportunity for the growth and development of e-commerce industry. The rise of digital economic power became one of the opening speech points of the Minister of Communication and Informatics, Republic of Indonesia, Rudiantara when officially opening the exhibition of Indonesia E-Commerce Summit and Expo (IESE) 2017 at Indonesia Convention and Exhibition (ICE), BSD for three days starting Tuesday (9/5) to Thursday (11/5). This year's IESE theme "Empowering the Digital Energy of Asia".
In his speech, Minister of Communication and Information Rudiantara said that digital commerce activity is a new economic power that will put Indonesia as the front in the region. The IESE is expected to follow up the government's program on technology and the digital economy for MSMEs, as well as to support the Ministry of Communication and Informatics program in socializing the Indonesia E-Trade Map, especially in the achievement of 1,000 technopreneurs in 2020.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Indonesia E-Commerce Association (idEA), Aulia E. Marinto, said the implementation of IESE is one of idEA's efforts to realize the goal of becoming a digital economic power in the region, even the world. Through IESE 2017, e-commerce industry actors can interact, share experiences and knowledge for the progress of the Indonesian e-commerce industry.
"We will continue to encourage idEA members to actively grow the country's e-commerce industry through innovative products and services. In the future, the challenges will be bigger and harder and we must be ready to face this to be able to compete at the international level, "said Aulia.
After the opening, Menkominfo Rudiantara and Chairman idEA, Aulia E. Marinto and entourage to visit the exhibition area that presents various booth e-commerce company Indonesia. This year IESE exhibition area is enlivened by about 150 companies in the field of e-commerce.
