IdEA: Payment Literacy Issues Should Be Incorporated In The E-commerce Roadmap

The Indonesian E-commerce Association (IDEA) holds one major issue that needs to be added in the E-commerce Roadmap's Presidential Decree, ie financial inclusion or payment literacy. This was stated by Bima Laga, Head of Tax, Infrastructure, Security of IDEA idol in Business Forum event entitled "E-commerce Industry Business Profile" held by Bank Negara Indonesia in Jakarta, Tuesday (10/10).

This can make e-commerce more advanced. Because the results of a survey of EEA events organized by idEA show that 60% of trained SMEs still conduct informal transactions through social media. And only 40% do transactions through the marketplace.

In addition, the survey of the Association of Internet Service Providers Indonesia (APJII) also shows its 36% online trading transaction transactions are still through automated teller machines (ATM) and 14% are still cash on delivery (COD). This is what needs to be noticed, because online trading transactions ideally through online payments.

"In addition to making e-commerce forward, this program of payment literacy is also good for banking," said Bima.

Therefore, Bima sees the importance of the inclusion of the issue of payment literacy in the Perpres Road E-commerce. Currently, there are seven issues regulated in the Presidential Regulation: funding, education and human resources, logistics, tax, cyber security, consumer protection and communications infrastructure.
