Several policies related to the digital industry, especially e-commerce, were launched last year. For example, Minister of Trade Regulation 31/2023, Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE), Government Regulation (PP) concerning non-tax state revenues (PNBP) in the field of telecommunications and information technology (No. 41/2023), PP PDP Kominfo, BPS 4/2023, as well as the latest revisions in the regulations of the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) regarding online drug sales.

In an effort to strengthen cooperation and relations between industry players and the government as policy makers, the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) held a discussion forum on Digital Economy Industrial Governance. Present at the event which was held on February 20 2024 were representatives from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Communication and Information, Ministry of Trade, BPOM, and BPS.
