Support UMKM Region Entering E-Commerce Market, idEA Hold Kenduri in Surabaya October 10, 2017

Jakarta, October 10, 2017 - The Indonesian E-commerce Association (idEA) held Kenduri e-UKM in Surabaya, October 10, 2017. Surabaya is the fourth city to host Kenduri e-UKM. Three previous cities namely Yogyakarta, Makassar and Bandung. After Surabaya, there will be eight other cities that will host Kenduri e-UKM namely, Balikpapan, Semarang, Medan, Pontianak, Palembang, Denpasar, and Solo.

Kenduri which means "salvation" or new spirit which become the basis of conducted training event or workshop for e-SMEs in 10 cities aims to accelerate the growth of e-Commerce in Indonesia through stimulus and debriefing to SMEs. After this event, they are expected to be more able to utilize technology and digital channel until marketplace to develop and market their business.

Kenduri e-SME has an idEA mission to provide education and provide opportunities for all Indonesian people to be able to enjoy the development of technology as a means to create new business opportunities, especially through e-commerce or commonly called online sales.

E-SME empowerment programs will continue to be our degree in various regions of Indonesia. It is hoped that this program will provide briefing, new network, and solutions for SMEs to transform digitally in order to be able to trade online more quickly, safely and efficiently in providing services to their buyers. So e-Commerce becomes the solution in creating multiplier-effect to the growth of national economy, "said Aulia E. Marinto, Chairman idEA.

This activity is the first step of IDEA to record the local SMEs actors as well as get input and suggestions on the obstacles they face in their respective regions. As well as to foster further cooperation relationships with stakeholders in the province or city districts.

This educational program has generated a further step of cooperation with provincial level such as in East Java with the name of East Java Iso program. And the curated SME empowerment program to enter into export with the Government of Bandung City which will run in December 2017. The target of Kenduri e-SME implementation will continue until all provinces and municipalities in Indonesia in 2018 and will continue to provide programs sustainable derivatives for the advancement of Indonesian SMEs.
