Meeting for Discussion of Preparation of Guidelines for Supervision of Alkes and PKRT Products that are Circulated Online
On July 18, the management of the Consumer Protection & Content Moderation Division of the Indonesian E-Commerce Association attended the Discussion Meeting on the Preparation of Guidelines for Supervision of Alkes and PKRT Products that are Distributed Online. In the agenda, representatives from the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and other relevant stakeholders were also present. The meeting was held with the urgency of having a synergy between Ministries/Institutions & Companies that own distribution licenses for medical products and devices to develop guidelines for monitoring medical devices and PKRT products circulating especially online in compliance with quality and safety permits.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Trade reminded that PMSE and PSP organizers are responsible for immediately carrying out a takedown of findings of illegal content on the platform. Requests for the removal of links containing content selling illegal goods are periodically sent by the Ministry of Commerce's Cyber Patrol to the relevant platforms, in coordination with idEA.
Going forward, idEA will continue to support and be open to collaborating with stakeholders to continue to improve consumer safety and convenience in making transactions on e-commerce platforms.
