On Wednesday 2 February 2022, the Ministry of Education, Research and Technology held the Launching of the Center for Excellence Vocational School. The Center of Excellence SMK program aims to prepare SMK graduates who are able to answer industry needs, by providing learning supplies that link and match with industry.
Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim stated that Kemendikbudristek is committed to providing funds of up to 750 billion Rupiah for the Matching Support Scheme. Furthermore, he hopes that there will be a 1:1 investment between the Ministry of Education and Culture and Industry to strengthen learning and vocational facilities and infrastructure, so that the PK Vocational School program can be implemented properly and produce talents that are in line with industry needs.
The SMK PK program is also expected to provide benefits for the industry, such as cost efficiency in training prospective employees, supporting the supply chain, strengthening the company's image, obtaining Tax Deduction incentives, as well as cost projects subsidized by 50% by the government.
