Minister of Trade of RI met idEA for E-Commerce discussion in Indonesia

On Thursday (28/9), the General Chairman and the Chairman of the E-Commerce Association of Indonesia (idEA) met and discussed with Mr. Enggartiasto Lukita, Minister of Trade at the Main Building of Ministry of Commerce in Gambir, Jakarta. This meeting is an initiative of the Association to continue to build a dialogue with decision makers regarding the acceleration of the implementation of SPNBE Road Map 2017 in line with the expectations of the stakeholders, especially the Indonesian e-commerce industry players under the auspices of idEA.

The Minister of Trade welcomes the idEA initiative and conveyed that the dialogue between the government and the industry should continue to be done so that both existing and existing policies are able to adjust to the speed of the dynamics of the e-commerce industry in Indonesia.

Seeing the development and potential of e-commerce of the homeland is very large, the Minister also said that Indonesia is one of the countries seen by foreign business e-commerce as a country that has huge market potential. Therefore, affirmed by him that all elements must advance the potential of Indonesia to be able to host in the country itself also has the competitiveness "Thus, Indonesia is not always just a market," he said.

The discussion is about Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which is the backbone of the country's economy. Minister of Trade advised that SMEs can be fostered and encouraged to begin to follow the development in order to survive and advance in developing its business, for example by marketing its products digitally in the marketplace.

idEA Chairman Aulia E. Marinto conveyed "idEA as a proactive partner of stakeholders hoping that discussions with decision makers, especially the Government can continue to happen so that the development of the industry can be delivered clearly and in the end can accelerate the development of digital economy industry Indonesia."
