idEA Members Meet Up: Indonesian E-Commerce & Digital Economy Road Map

Jakarta, 12 August 2018, the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) held a series of Member Meet Up! which brings together idEA members to discuss industry trends and issues that occur in the e-commerce ecosystem. As well as inviting relevant stakeholders, namely the government to give a presentation and discuss in discussing the "Indonesian Digital E-Commerce & Economy Roadmap" with members of the idEA.

The activity held at The Kasablanka was guided by Mohammad Rosihan as the Deputy Chairperson of the idEA Government Relations Field. Related stakeholders, namely the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Industry, and the Ministry of Communication and Information - which are directly related to the e-commerce ecosystem --- open a presentation session.

Mr. I Gusti Ketut Astawa who represented the Ministry of Trade (Ministry of Trade) gave an explanation of the importance of regulating trade transactions through electronic systems that are currently still being processed by the regulations. This regulation will regulate the relevant business actors, product provisions, payment systems, shipping, consumer protection, dispute resolution, guidance and supervision, and sanctions.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) which was attended by Mrs. Endang Suhartini explained about the role of the Ministry of Industry in facilitating e-commerce businesses in Indonesia and the role of the Ministry of Industry in implementing the E-Commerce Roadmap. The Ministry of Industry has an education program for Small Medium Industril players selling through e-commerce and incubation programs and training in Start Up.

Finally, the presentation of Mr. I Nyoman Adhiarna from the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), which explained the current focus of the Ministry of Communication and Information in implementing the E-Commerce Roadmap. The Ministry of Communication and Information is developing broadband infrastructure, namely the Palapa Ring and a series of programs to implement cyber security, namely the National Supervision Model of E-Commerce Transactions and the Prudential SOP of E-Commerce Transactions.
