idEA Appeals Government on the Importance of Official E-Commerce Data and Education to Improve IT HR
The Indonesian E-commerce Association (idEA) emphasizes the importance of government to have official and accurate e-commerce data and to educate to improve the quality of human resources in the field of information technology (IT). Because in the future, internet-based business can not be avoided by anyone.
The required education can be through formal and informal education. Informal education has been done by several groups of state-owned companies to the regions to educate the community so that they can become a leading businessman in the field of e-commerce.
In addition, formal education should also be provided for more local workers trained in IT, to minimize the import of labor in the IT field from other countries. In addition, government regulation is expected to trigger the growth of the e-commerce industry is still classified as a baby.
"E-commerce is not unlikely to be regulated, but like babies, in our recently-established age it's not even good development," said Ignatius Untung, chairman of Economics and Business, Indonesia E-Commerce Association Forum, Live on TVOne, Thursday (9/14).
In addition to the input from idEA, various other economic actors also delivered various inputs to the government. Bahlil Lahadia, Chairman of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) said the government should not only focus on economic growth, but also focus on strengthening business scale.
Because this nation must learn from history. Which became our economic fortress when the economic crisis was small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). UMKM is able to contribute 97% to job creation. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) itself, 98.9% of the total business units in this country are MSMEs.
"So there is no other way, other than we have to strengthen SMEs. We must not only strengthen the capability of capital, but also the quality of UMKM human resources, "said Bahlil.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Industry (Kadin) Rosan Roeslani acknowledge the government's policy in the creation of a good economic region. But equally important is the granting of autonomy in full. This is to trim the complexity of the licensing bureaucracy that complicates investment.
"So the key must be taken by each policy that should facilitate the entry of investment in order to provide employment, not just the opposite," said Rosan.
BPS welcomes entrepreneurs' input. However, BPS also called on entrepreneurs to cooperate with BPS in the economic census. Because the census data is important for the government to take the policies needed by entrepreneurs.
"There are still entrepreneurs who are not cooperative with BPS, therefore I urge businessmen to cooperate in the economic census," said Head of BPS, Kecuk Suhariyanto.
The government also responded positively to the wishes of businessmen. Deputy for Macroeconomic and Financial Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Iskandar Simorangkir, said that some of the entrepreneurs' inputs have been made by the government. To overcome the complexity of bureaucracy, for example, the government has pioneered the One Submission that allows entrepreneurs in proposing licensing.
In addition, the government has also conducted vocational education in cooperation with Kadin. This is to membingikatkan ability of human resources in the field of IT. "This can strengthen e-commerce," said Iskandar.
