Indonesian Internet Service Provider Association (APJII) has announced the 2016 annual internet survey on Statistics of Users and User Behavior Internet Indonesia on Monday, October 24, 2016 in Jakarta.

According to the results of the Internet survey, Indonesia continues to experience growth of Internet users were outstanding, so the number of current Internet users reached 132.7 million users, or it can be said that internet penetration in Indonesia has exceeded half the total population of Indonesia, which amounted to 51.8%. The figure is also much higher than the results of the Internet survey in 2014 that 88 million users.

The internet survey results also describes some other interesting things, such is the use of the Internet is still dominated for social media and entertainment. Three social media channels of choice netizen sequentially Indonesia is Facebook (71.6 million users), Instagram (19.9 million users) and YouTube (14.5 million users).

Internet survey results related to e-Commerce, showed that 69.4% or 92 million users deem it safe to transact online. Three products are purchased online in order are the tickets purchased by 25.7% or 34.1 million users, Household Needs as much as 22.2% or 29.4 million purchased by the User and Apparel 3.6% or bought by 4.7 Million Users.

Although the manual states that it is safe for online transactions, Internet banking payment method is not be the first choice for payment in the e-commerce. In the first sequence, or 36.7% (48.7 million) user chooses a payment via ATM and then second in 14.2% (18.8 million) users to make payments with a pay system in place, or better known as COD (Cash on Delivery) and third in 7.5% (9.9 million) use the internet banking users to pay for transactions through e-commerce.
