Digital Economy Forum - Kominfo

Last Monday, April 4, the General Chairperson of idEA Bima Laga and the leaders of idEA member companies attended the Digital Economy Forum of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia. At the forum, idEA and other invited guests had the opportunity to have direct discussions with the Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate, the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki, the Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga, and with the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno who attended virtually. As reported by the Kominfo Press Release, the Digital Economy Forum is a Kominfo initiative to bring together Indonesian digital ecosystem players to discuss and get input on the latest issues that need the government's attention.

The forum which was held last Monday was the 4th Session, with the theme of the Digital Marketplace Platform. Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate conveyed the message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia who requested that MSMEs immediately upgrade to class and not only become spectators in the midst of massive digital trading activities. Minister Johnny also added that currently one of the main work programs of Kominfo is digitizing MSMEs, so that MSMEs are able to advance to class, survive and advance in the industrial era 4.0.

As the association that oversees the digital industry players, especially E-Commerce, idEA, represented by Bima Laga as the General Chair, expressed full support for the government's plan. The work programs and regular activities that have been carried out by idEA itself are in line with the government's target to digitize MSMEs, one of which is in the form of routine training activities "idEA EUKM" which are held free of charge and open to all MSME actors in Indonesia. The programs organized by idEA also cannot be separated from the support of members and many parties, such as logistics and banking. In the future, idEA is committed to continuing to encourage the strengthening of the digitization of MSMEs and MSME local product transactions through the implementation of various training programs.
