In connection with the enactment of the Personal Data Protection Law or PDP, the European Chamber supported by S.ASEAN International Advocacy & Consultancy (SAIAC) held a dialogue with the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia on Tuesday 11 October, inviting representatives from various stakeholders, including the E Association of Indonesia. -Commerce Indonesia (idEA) as an association that houses digital industry players. The ongoing discussion focused on the correlation of the PDP Law on consumer confidence in the security of their data, particularly in the private sector.

Vice Chairman of EuroCham Indonesia, Wichard Von Harrach directly opened the seminar agenda, followed by a keynote speech from the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate. Rofi Uddarojat, Head of PPGR idEA was present as one of the panelists. On this occasion, Rofi discussed a lot about the readiness of e-commerce businesses and the digital ecosystem in Indonesia to implement the newly ratified PDP Law.
