Discussion: How the Industry Looks at the E-Commerce Roadmap

Jakarta, August 16, 2017 - at the Morissey Hotel, The E-Commerce Association of Indonesia (idEA) held a Discussion on How the Industry views the Roadmap e-Commerce Roadmap.

Attended by Sunoto Setyo, Head of Media, Design and Science of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Mariam F. Barata, Secretary of Directorate General of Informatics Applications, Nukman Luthfi Social-Commerce Actors, and media crew, with keynote speakers of IdEA Chairman and Head of IdEA Sector.

In the discussion presented, idEA welcomes and appreciates the Government of Indonesia which has given full support to the development of digital economy with signed Presidential Decree no. 74/2017 on Road Map of Electronic-Based National Trading System of 2017-2019 by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on 3 August 2017

Given the high potential of e-Commerce, but also many problems, because the Government entered into e-Commerce with e-commerce roadmap, as a result of collaboration from eight Ministry of RI. The roadmap includes funding and investment, logistics, taxation, ICT infrastructure, and consumer protection. Officially Perpres Roadmap e-Commerce, According to Aulia, is a proof of the seriousness of the Government in encouraging the achievement of the digital economy is targeted to reach USD130 billion in 2020.
