Digital Energy of Asia 2020, Jembatan Produk Indonesia untuk Mendunia

Indonesian products are increasingly known to the world. Rendang and satay, it has even been recognized as the world's most delicious food by CNN through its online poll. Batik as an art creation has also been recognized by UNESCO as an authentic Indonesian heritage. Finally, the 2018 Asian Games confirmed the event as Energy of Asia, the creation of the nation. One thing that becomes the common thread of all of that is that all have an important role thanks to the support of digital technology.

So it is not wrong, if the Digital Energy of Asia 2020 launched by the government becomes an opportunity for Indonesian products to become more global. This initiation continues to be encouraged by the Indonesian Ecommerce Digital Association (IDEA). Starting from 2016 by holding the Indonesia E-Commerce Summit & Expo (IESE) with the theme "Welcoming The Digital Energy Of Asia", as the largest digital industry exhibition and event in Indonesia. This is IDEA's first program as a digital industry stakeholder to support the government's vision. Then, the following year, IESE was again held by making idEA a hub for contact and "center of e-commerce knowledge" for all stakeholders in the e-commerce ecosystem through the theme "Empowering The Digital Energy Of Asia"

Related to Indonesian products, of course it cannot be separated from the role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) or Small and Medium Industries (SMEs) in Indonesia. Hundreds and even thousands of genuine Indonesian products continue to emerge. But it cannot be avoided, various MSME products must compete directly with finished products from other countries. Amidst the tight competition of digital e-commerce, this is all a challenge. For this reason IDEA held a series of roadshows with sponsors and stakeholders to provide early and advanced education on e-commerce and its ecosystem in 34 cities in Indonesia. This event has reached more than 5000 UMKM / IKM entrepreneurs in 2017 and 2018.

In 2018, as a form of responsibility for advancing Indonesia's digital economy, IDEA together with eukm.online, sponsors, and supporters of the UMKM / IKM enthusiastic community will hold a 3-day event titled LOCAL GOOD to develop its business through the online world. The event which will be held at The Kasablanka, Kota Kasablanka Jakarta on 12-14 September 2018 will be filled with material about

  • Empowering MSMEs towards new digital economic strengths
  • Study with 20 more online practitioners
  • Sharing and meeting MSME players and service and service providers in the expo area

Not only that, IDEA also held a seminar at the same time by inviting representatives of Dinas from various regions in Indonesia at the provincial, district and city level to intersect with the policy of developing MSMEs in the regions. The purpose of the seminar entitled "DIGITAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY IN THE REGION THROUGH COLLABORATION OF E-COMMERCE & UMKM" will explore thoroughly all the new knowledge, experience and ideas in improving regional economy through the use of digital platforms and e-commerce. Case studies will be presented along with working visits to the offices of the four largest e-commerce companies in Indonesia.

Through this event, there will be collaboration, cooperation, and mutual complement, between MSME entrepreneurs, business partners, good marketing, resellers, exporters, and of course the government along with its supporters. In this event, the vision of The Digital Energy Of Asia was put together and collaborated into a concrete step from upstream to downstream. The goal is to ensure that in the development of Indonesian e-commerce, local products in the digital economy era can be successful and global.
