The digital economy has become a major force reshaping the global business landscape, including in Indonesia. To provide comprehensive insights into current trends and future forecasts of Indonesia's digital economy, the Center for Economic and Law Studies (CELIOS) launched the report "Indonesia Digital Economy Outlook 2025" on December 19, 2024. idEA had the honor of being one of the speakers at this event, represented by its Secretary General, Mr. Budi Primawan.

The report projects that by 2025, Indonesia's e-commerce sector will reach a transaction value of IDR 471 trillion, with digital payment transactions valued at IDR 2,908.6 trillion. Additionally, the growth of digital lending platforms is expected to expand financial inclusion, with the sector projected to reach IDR 365.7 trillion by 2025.

However, CELIOS identified challenges such as data and privacy security vulnerabilities, low competitiveness in human resources regarding technology mastery, innovation, and creativity; disparities in digital access, literacy, and financing; and declining investment in the digital economy sector.
