Together with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, idEA Holds the E-Commerce Road Map Socialization Workshop
With the signing of Presidential Regulation (PerPres) no. 74 of 2017 on Electronic Road Based Electronic Trading System (SPNBE) or Road Map E-Commerce Year 2017-2019 in early August 2017, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and idEA sees the importance of continuous socialization of the elements contained in Road Map E -Commerce for idEA members consisting of e-commerce industry actors both as platform and as supporting ecosystem such as payment, delivery, digital marketing, social media, banking, and infrastructure.
Discussion and socialization of E-Commerce Road Map was held in Jakarta on Tuesday (19/9). Aside from being a means of socialization, this workshop is also a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas between the government and business actors from the e-commerce industry on the understanding of the PerPres in order to align the needs of the industry with elements of the SPNBE Road Map 2017-2019.
The workshop was also held to respond to questions from business actors as well as accommodate responses or inputs from the side of e-commerce industry players. Future plans for the post-Road Map (2017- 2019) are also discussed in this workshop, so that the development of national e-commerce can be a sustainable and accommodating future digital economic development.
Also speaking in the workshop were Mr. Lukita D. Tuwo, Secretary of Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and Mira Tayyiba Deputy Assistant of Creative Economic Development. In his keynote speech Mr. Lukita explained about the economic growth that can not be separated from technological progress that increasingly rapidly. He added that technological developments are able to open new business opportunities, especially electronic commerce-based trading model.
And now, in Indonesia, many local business actors, both those who have long acted as well as newly pioneered, rely heavily on electronic systems as the main element of its business activities. Therefore, this electronic-based national trading system absolutely has tremendous economic potential in Indonesia, and is even expected to be one of the backs of the national economy.
"So with the background of the above, the government wants to encourage the holding of acceleration and development of national electronic trading system based. The government also has a target and vision to place Indonesia as the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia in 2020. So, finally the e-commerce road map was finalized and signed by the President recently "said Lukita. "SPNBE Road Map 2017-2019 This is a document that provides direction and steps of preparation and implementation of trading transactions through electronic devices and procedures. The E-Commerce Road Map is accompanied by the establishment of a Steering Committee chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, represented by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, and comprising various ministries and state institutions ".
Furthermore, Mrs. Mira Tayyiba describes the elements, issues and challenges of e-commerce as stated in the Presidential Decree no. 74 of 2017 on SPNBE "The E-Commerce Road Map serves as a reference, both for central and local governments to establish sectoral policies and action plans in accordance with their respective duties relating to electronic national-based trading systems. E-Commerce Road Map can also be used as a reference for the stakeholders in running the national electronic trading system based. "
Mira acknowledged, there are many things that should be discussed together by the government and industry players to equate the views related to the e-commerce industry pengeloolaan. He cited the definition of the consumer.
In the minds of industry players, consumers can be end users or client companies. But for the Consumer Protection Act, the definition of a consumer is only an end user.
"This is what we have to find a common understanding," Mira said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Membership and Organization of IdEA, Adimarta J Ahmad expects this workshop can provide comprehensive understanding and understanding of Perpres SPNBE Road Map 2017-2019 year. So the government's goal to accelerate the development of national e-commerce can be achieved and the target to make Indonesia as a country with the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia in 2020 materialized.
"This workshop is also expected to be able to bridge the needs of the industry from the business actors, namely the idEA members with the regulations that the government has made," Adimarta said.
