E-commerce Association Presents idEA EUKM to Answer the Challenges of the Digital Economy

The growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) is clearly the backbone of the advance of the industrial revolution 4.0 through the e-commerce sector. In other words, they also support Indonesia's economic growth from the digital economy sector.

As an organization that houses e-commerce and all its supporting businesses, the Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) initiated the EUKM idEA event. The event, which has entered its third year, is a one-day training that will teach not only digital go, but also the tricks of selling online in detail to MSMEs. The event which was previously named Kenduri EUKM will be present in 10 cities throughout 2020. In total, more than 30 cities and reached more than 4,000 MSMEs in Indonesia.

The IDEA Chairperson, Ignatius Untung, affirmed the commitment of the organization he leads to advance the MSME sector so that it will be more robust in supporting Indonesia's digital economy. "EEA's IDEA is one form of our commitment that not only encourages MSMEs to go on board, but also provides provisions so that they can successfully sell online," Untung said in Jakarta, Monday (24/2).

For the inaugural idEA event, EUKM 2020 is present in Bekasi. Located at Ibis Styles Hotel Bekasi, idEA EUKM presents Lazada Indonesia's VP Business Development, Fitri Karnadi. Fitri explained what MSMEs could and should do when selling on e-commerce platforms, especially Lazada. "How to respond to prospective buyers is important."

Fitri also opened the opportunity for SMEs who want to be a seller at Lazada. "Our shop's appearance, even though it is online, is also important," Fitri added.

The highlight was the online marketing expert Tommy Arno Funz. With a relaxed, interactive and fun personality, Tommy teaches in detail what needs to be done so that MSME products can be recognized and attract the attention of potential customers. "I will not teach using paid advertising, but rather maximize facilities on social media and e-commerce to be able to introduce MSME products widely."

In addition to the e-commerce platform, idEA EUKM also cooperates with Jurnal.id which will make it easier for MSMEs to make their financial reports in more detail and order. There are also logistics companies SAP and Lodi. The logistics company is a party that will greatly help MSMEs ensure their products reach the consumers well.

Participants' responses also match expectations. They immediately ask and connect the way taught with the product. Not only theory, idEA EUKM participants can immediately practice it with their cellphones.
