Jakarta, Friday, April 15, 2016. In response to the government's plan to impose a tax free - free to a few e-commerce business model, Achmad Zaky founder bukalapak poised to give his opinion.
According Zaky, principles of justice must be enforced by law. However, it would be nice if the government saw that the business model of e-Commere have a revenue stream that is different between models with each other. Zaky believes that the application of the tax free to e-commerce that does not rely on revenue from advertising goods need to be studied further. This is necessary so that the e-commerce industry in the country can compete with e-commerce industry from the outside, foster investment climate that can ultimately sustain economic growth.
"The taxation of the free gift for e-commerce industry is not relying on revenue from advertising goods has the potential to inhibit the growth of e-commerce industry homeland to compete with similar industries from outside. Our company today is already running tax obligations in accordance with the provisions applicable." further Zaky
Regarding the taxation laws of Indonesia, the government is expected to need to examine more deeply and also pay attention to the application of the taxation system more clearly related to the regulation to be executed because of their tendency to focus on the implementation of the local players, whereas a large portion of e-commerce is still held by foreign players. The regulations should also be more clearly applied to all types of business models of e-commerce e-commerce industry that Indonesia can continue to grow which in turn can contribute optimally to the State. For example, Singapore has had very clear rules regarding taxation on e-commerce, which also governs the type of taxes imposed on goods and services each and every e-commerce business model.
"We will keep trying to open a good communication with the government, in particular to give the proposal from the e-commerce industry related formulation of government policies on taxation of e-commerce. We expect the regulation to be executed can be a good solution for all parties." Close Zaky
